Temporary Disability Benefits
Temporary Disability (TD) benefits provide wage replacement while you recover from your work injury and are unable to work.
Key Information
- TD pays approximately two-thirds (2/3) of your average weekly wage
- Maximum weekly rate for 2026: $1,764.11 (effective January 1, 2026)
- Minimum weekly rate for 2026: $264.61 (effective January 1, 2026)
- First payment due within 14 days of employer knowledge of injury (LC 4650)
- TD can continue for up to 104 weeks within 5 years of injury (LC 4656)
- Severe injuries (burns, HIV, hepatitis B/C, amputations, etc.) may qualify for up to 240 weeks
- 10% penalty automatically added to late payments (LC 4650(d))
